A Charlotte, NC based junk journaler, eager to share her creativity with the community
I started Junk Journaling long before I knew it had a name! From saving movie tickets from 2009 to keeping passed notes in class from 2006, I had piles and piles of memories that I loved looking through, but wanted to memorialise somehow. I'd always journaled; in fact it's the 22 year anniversary of me journaling every day!
Then I found a community that combines those two of my favorite things! That's how I found junk journaling. Through videos on YouTube, instagram and TikTok, I slowly dove into the world of chaotic creativity, as I call it, and fell deeply in love.
Scrap and Yap is more than a club—it’s a creative community. I host junk journal meetups in Charlotte, NC, where people of all backgrounds can gather, share supplies, and let their creativity run wild. These meetups are a space to cut, paste, write, laugh, and connect; no perfection required.
At the heart of Scrap and Yap is my mission of compassionate chaotic creativity: embracing the mess, encouraging self-expression, and uplifting each other as we make something beautiful out of scraps. Every page tells a story, every sticker has a place, and every voice matters. Whether you’re a seasoned journaler or just curious to try, you’re welcome here.
